Donor Unknown

Alternative title
Sperm Donor Unknown
Synopsis
Documentary about a young American woman who is reunited with her sperm donor father Jeffrey Harrison, who she only knew as Donor 150. JoEllen Marsh grew up in Pennsylvania with two mothers, and had a burning curiosity to learn more about her anonymous donor father. Using an online registry that connects donor-conceived children, she tracked down a half-sister in New York. 12 more half-siblings emerged across the United States after the New York Times picked up the story, a story which was also read by Venice Beach resident Jeffrey Harrison, who supplemented his meagre income in the 1980s by becoming a sperm donor at California Cryobank. What transpires is an exploration of identity, genetic inheritance and the family of the future.
