Cardenio

Synopsis
Video recording of the 2011 Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Cardenio directed by Gregory Doran. The play Double Falsehood is claimed to be an adaptation of a lost play by Shakespeare, based on the story of Cardenio in Cervantes’ Don Quixote. Such a play, by Shakespeare and John Fletcher, was first performed in 1612. Using this and other sources, Gregory Doran re-imagines the story.
