Going to Extremes: Mood Disorders and Schizophrenia

Synopsis
David Myers refers to depression as the "common cold of psychological disorders." This programme looks at the two major categories of mood disorders—depression and bipolar disorder—and at the cluster of psychoses known as schizophrenia. The very personal experiences of psychologists Kay Redfield Jamison, author of The Unquiet Mind, and Stephen Hinshaw, author of The Years of Silence are Past, add a significant dimension to the experience and understanding of these illnesses.
