Exporting Harm

Alternative title
Exporting Harm: The High-Tech Trashing of Asia
Synopsis
A hard-hitting documentary on the dumping of toxic computer waste in China, aiming to open people’s eyes to the true horror of the high-tech revolution. A tale of how good intentions - to recycle old computers and parts - can lead to disastrous consequences.
Surveying the environment across Asia and analysing the changes that have resulted from the trade in e-waste, a disturbing picture is built up of local people struggling to survive, unaware of the long-term consequences of their solution to this economic struggle. (23 minutes)
