Race is a Four Letter Word

Synopsis
Directed by Sobaz Benjamin, who was brought up in England and moved to Grenada before settling in Canada. He highlights some conflicts around race, heroically exposing himself in the process: a black man who grew up trying to bleach his skin with chemicals, and then struggled to appreciate the meaning of his heritage. Also shown is a white man who is culturally and psychologically black, having been brought up by a black family, a black woman who wants to be considered iconically Canadian, and another black woman who retreats to England rather than continue to face Canada’s racial cold war.
