New Horizons in Undergraduate Mathematics - Gröbner Bases

Synopsis
These two lectures on Gröbner bases, given by Bernd Sturmfels, are designed as a first course for advanced undergraduate and graduate students. Understanding the theory and computational methods of Gröbner bases allows for further research into areas of computer science and computational algebra. Today, the Gröbner bases theory has been very useful in providing computational tools to help solve a wide array of problems in mathematics, science, engineering and computer science.

Supplementary material provided on DVD-ROM: teacher’s guide, presentation slides, lecture notes, code samples, references, biographies, links for computational algebra resources on the Web
