Eternal Jew, The

Alternative title
Ewige Jude, Der
Synopsis
This, the most vicious and virulent of all Nazi films, goes through the whole range of anti-semitic attitudes. It attacks Jews for allegedly choosing to live in squalor (in sequences of the Warsaw ghetto), for their success as capitalists in America and elsewhere, for creating Bolshevism, for causing German defeat and humiliation in 1918 and for their part in the ‘decadent’ artistic movement of the 1920s. The final part is an attack on Jewish religious beliefs and includes scenes of animal slaughter which may be difficult to watch. To the objective viewer the film may seem ridiculous but its nature makes it essential that it should be shown only with an explanatory introduction.

In order to demonstrate the true logical conclusion of what this film sought to unleash, the MediaOUtlet DVD also includes: THE TWENTIETH CENTURY: THE NUREMBERG TRIALS (1957, 22 minutes). In this film Walter Cronkite narrates this journey through the court proceedings that held the leaders of Nazi Germany to account for the horrors of the Holocaust under The Third Reich.
