Autism: Life Among Strangers

Synopsis
This documentary features Dale Henderson who, until the age of 18 months, appeared to be like every other toddler. When he began to withdraw into himself, stopped interacting with others and began to do strange things it was the start of a long journey for his family before doctors finally diagnosed autism. Three adults with Asperger’s Syndrome are also featured in the DVD - one of whom remained undiagnosed until the age of 42 - together with Temple Grandin who is the subject of Oliver Sack’s famous essay ‘An Anthropologist on Mars’.
