Synopsis

UK consumers were predicted to spend more than £7 billion on electrical goods in the run up to this festive season. But do you know what to do with your old equipment - particularly when it’s as big and cumbersome as a television, for example? Many electrical items contain valuable plastics and metals which can be recycled and reused in new products. Ofcom has put together this video guide giving information and advice on ways to recycle old electronic goods. It tells how you can safely dispose of your old TVs and computers, as well as schemes where you can exchange your mobile phones for money.
