World’s Lost Tribes
- Synopsis
- Six-part documentary series in which extreme travellers Mark Anstice and Olly Steed venture into the jungles of West Papua to live with the Kombai tribe, who were discovered only 25 years ago. Largely cut off from the modern world, the Kombai’s way of life has barely changed since the Stone Age. They are spread across approximately 250 small clans, each of which speaks a different language. The explorers must build their own shelter, hunt wild boar, learn a new language and understand tribal rituals, all the while living in the knowledge that the Kombai have, in the past, practised cannibalism and ruthless retribution killings
