Synopsis
This series consists of five videos offering ways to prevent accidents in mines before they happen. Technical Support conducts field investigations, laboratory studies, and analyses to resolve specific problems. MSHA is developing this video series in an attempt to help us learn from past accidents, providing what they call "Low Tech" remedies.
1 - New water spray system for continuous mining machines - an innovative water spray system designed specifically to facilitate the rapid change-out of clogged or damaged sprays.
2 - Safely changing cutting bits on a continuous miner
3 - Using drip pans and safely lubricating conveyor systems
4 - Using safety props for mobile equipment repairs
