Synopsis

An interactive DVD documenting the research of Martin White, Professor of Theatre at the University of Bristol, into original practices in the Jacobean Indoor Playhouse. It contains footage of theatre performance from 4 different audience perspectives. The DVD user can change their viewing position in real time by using the angle function of their DVD control. This practice-led research project used a full-scale reconstruction of the interior of a Jacobean indoor playhouse, with the particular focus being to explore the uses of candlelight in the playhouse.

There is a wide range of supporting documentary material.
