Synopsis

Video recording of the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre production directed for stage by Mike Alfreds. The production uses minimal sets and employed a cast of six (and two on-stage percussionists) with the subsequent doubling of roles.

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre makes several recordings of a single production, using three fixed cameras, to enable practitioners and researchers to observe how the play has developed during the run. The production was also recorded by the Theatre on Film & Tape (TOFT) at the Harvey Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music, NY on 13 March 2002 and is catalogued separately.
