Total Isolation
- Synopsis
- What does complete isolation feel like? How does it feel to be cut off from sight, sound, touch and smell, without any stimulation? HORIZON’S volunteers enter the dark and terrifying world of sensory deprivation, from being left alone in a sound proofed-room, in constant light and without human contact to being exposed to an unchanging environment - white noise in their ears, gloves on their arms and goggles over their eyes. The programme examines how the brain works, how it deteriorates and how it compensates for life in a harsh, dull environment.
