Bbfc: Behind the Scenes

Alternative title
Behind the Scenes at the Bbfc
Synopsis
An educational resource pack consisting of a DVD and an interactive DVD-ROM that helps students of Film and Media understand the processes of film classification. By exploring issues that affect classification for the release of films in the cinema, for home entertainment and in video games, the pack helps to make the work of the BBFC more accessible for teachers and students.

The resource provides a wide range of opportunities to explore the issues tackled by the BBFC when classifying films. Issues, including Violence, Sexual References, Language, Horror and Drugs are considered in relation to specific film texts and more generally. The resource helps to integrate the work of the BBFC into the different curriculum areas and students can also take on the role of an examiner as they classify their own clips and video games.
