Foyer - Das Theatermagazin Spezial: Shakespeare

Synopsis: In this special edition of the ‘Foyer’ theatre review series, presenter Theo Koll introduces recent important German-speaking theatre adaptations of Shakespeare, such as Luc Bondy’s King Lear and Stefan Pucher’ s The Merchant of Venice. The programme also includes a portrait of actor Ernst Stoetzner, who was awarded the Gudrun-Eysoldt-Ring for his Puck at the Deutsche Theater Berlin, as well as a documentary about a secondary school’s experience of staging Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ in co-operation with the Schauspielhaus Bochum.
