Synopsis

MADE IN CHINA is an expedition through the urban Chinese underground and the slowly budding youth culture in Beijing and Shanghai. Ten young intellectuals in film, art, literature and music describe and reflect upon their works in post-Mao China. A portrait emerges of a generation which both Chinese and foreign media call the "lost generation". The featured individuals work as a jazz singer, fashion designer, radio DJ, writer, video artist, curator, DJ, punk band member, filmaker, and electro-prooducer.
