Shakespeare Concert

Synopsis
The transmission of the radio concert performed by the Bournemouth Symphonic Orchestra opens with a selection from Mendelssohn’s incidental music for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, followed by excerpts from Verdi’s Otello and Richard Strauss’s tone poem version of Macbeth. The second part of the programme is devoted to Elgar’s symphonic study Falstaff which is introduced by John Wilders.
