Talmud

Synopsis
The Talmud is the second part of the Torah (the Old Testament), founded on the principles of tradition and oral transmission. A body of legal, legendary or philosophical texts, it is a mixture of singular logic and deft pragmatism, of history and science, of anecdotes and humour. No other text has ever had a comparable influence, whether theoretical or practical, on Jewish life, moulding its spiritual content and offering a guide for conduct.

This film sets out to retrace its history, from its genesis to the latest news concerning it. The programme includes: Includes: YESHIVA PONIEVITCH, 1932
