Synopsis: The human brain is mysterious and the more we know about it, the more complex the whole system seems to be. However, it is only now in the 21st century that scientists have new techniques that can be used to open up, for the first time, the secret chambers in our heads and watch the complex system of hundreds of billions of neurons at work.

The most fascinating subjects for scientists are a small group of enigmatic talents: the so called savants, or the "Knowing Ones. Savants can multiply 5-digit numbers in their heads, or know 12,000 books by heart, while some can play a melody on the piano after hearing it only once. Over half of savants are autistic.
