Synopsis
Fyodor Dostoevsky, one of the greatest novelists of all time, penetrated the human mind and heart with insight. His fiction has had a profound and enduring influence on the modern intellectual climate. Dostoevsky was born in Moscow on November 11, 1821. His first novel, Poor Folk (1846) was highly praised for its sympathetic treatment of the downtrodden. His other works included The Insulted and Injured (1861), Notes From Underground (1864), Crime and Punishment (1866), The Idiot (1868), The Possessed (1872), The Brothers Karamazov (1880).
