Synopsis
Radio documentary series presented by Peter Holland which considers how Shakespeare’s plays have been absorbed into the theatrical traditions of different countries. Among the productions discussed are a current performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in India, a South African version of Julius Caesar, German productions of Romeo and Juliet and Troilus and Cressida, two French productions of Hamlet, King Lear on the Moscow stage and a production of The Tempest at the 1994 Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
