Synopsis
Feature film comedy. David Garrick, the legendary 18th-century English actor, accepts an invitation to the Comédie Française in Paris, announcing that he’ll teach them the art of acting. When they hear of his remark, the entire company stages an elaborate hoax at a country inn in an attempt to humiliate their guest but Garrick discovers their plans. The film begins with Garrick concluding his performance of Hamlet at the Drury Lane theatre, London.
