Swan Migration
- Synopsis
- In 2003 BBC Radio 4’s Natural History Unit joined forces with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust to discover more about the behaviour of some of our favourite winter visitors. Six swans from Arctic Russia were satellite tagged to track their return to Britain. The Today Programme followed their journey, special feature programmes revealed the science of migration and The Living World - Coming Home visited the WWT’s reserve at Welney - one of the potential landing sites. The website archive of that project. includes audio recordings of these four programmes as well analysing the importance of weather on migration and giving details of their progress
