Synopsis: Radio programme. Members of The British Empire Society perform scenes from Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and one extract from Hamlet. The transmission of these extracts is alternated with the following pieces of Shakespeare-related music: Arne’s "Where the Bee Sucks", "Under the Greenwood Tree", "When Daisies Pied", Schubert’s "Hark, hark the Lark", and Mendelssohn’s "Ye spotted snakes" are sung by Winifred Fisher (mezzo-soprano). Philip Wilson (tenor) contributes with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s "Come Away Death", "It was a Lover", Benjamin Dale’s "O Mistress Mine", Ernest Charsson’s "Take, Oh Take These Lips Away", and "Who is Sylvia" by Schubert.
