Synopsis
A 6-part series using state-of-the-art computer graphics to demonstrate the beautiful, astonishing and often dangerous phenomena of the Universe. Presented by Sam Neill.
Individual programmes are: 1) Star stuff. The origins of stars and the earth. 2) Staying Alive: Looks at how disasters in space regularly threaten the earth and considers what would happen if a massive asteroid ends up on a collision course with our planet. 3) Black Holes: Examines what would happen if the Earth ever encountered a black hole. 4) Are We Alone?: Sam Neill ventures from the oceans of an alien moon to undiscovered worlds to try to answer one of man’s most intriguing questions - do aliens exist? 5) New Worlds: Explores where humans will decide to live when the Earth becomes uninhabitable. 6) Boldly Go: Whether humans will ever be able to travel to distant stars and the far reaches of our galaxy.
