Hamlet, We wsi Glucha Dolna

Alternative title
Hamlet in the Middle of Nowhere
Synopsis
Made for television film. The play is set in the late 1940s, and tells the story about an official in a small mountain village and his attempt to put on a production of Hamlet. It was interpreted as a sharp criticism of Communism as manifested through the tyranny of petty and ignorant officials, and the phrase ‘Mrdusa Donja’ entered Croatian vocabulary as a description of all the phenomena associated with it.
