Synopsis

The film charts the histories of the Massine and de Basil Ballets Russes companies from the 1930s onwards, seen through the eyes of the dancers who were still alive when the film was made (several have since died), and through rare film clips of the repertories. Among the dancers taking part are Irina Baronova, Frederic Franklin, Natalie Krassovska, Alicia Markova, Marc Platt, Tatiana Riabouchinska, Mia Slavenska, Maria Tallchief, Tamara Tchinarova, Nina Theilade, and George Zoritch.

DVD extras: more than an hour of extra that were cut from the film.
