Synopsis: A double-CD collection of prose-poems written and read by Michael Rosen.'Carrying the Elephant’ and ‘This is Not my Nose’ are both autobiographical in nature. The first of these extended sequences of prose-poems traces an up-bringing within a radical Jewish family, the story of a marriage and its breakdown, the loss of a dear son and the rediscovery of love. The second recounts the story of a personal illness - undiagnosed for years -and recovery from it. Both explore the themes of personal & political awareness within contexts such as the cold-war and the current ‘war on terror’ - and both offer a rare honesty, an original humour and a unique intimacy.
