Alternative title
Shakespeare’s Globe Restored: Teaching by Performance
Synopsis
In 1996 a student production of Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Hugh Richmond and Louis Fantasia, transferred from the University of California at Berkeley to the stage of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre at Bankside, London. A performance was recorded, and it provided the core of this video documentary about the use of the rebuilt stage. The video documents eighteen months of planning, rehearsal, location work and post-production and includes some scenes from the production.
