Interviewing for Radio

Synopsis
A guide to preparing for interviews for radio, including live studio interviews and vox pops. Divided into four modules: 1) Libby Purves on Interviewing (45 mins) Libby Purves talks about her interview with Sybil Phoenix, a lady mayoress of Lewisham; 2) Vox Pops (25 mins) An introduction to the vox pop in interviews; 3) The Vox Pop Vault (15 mins) A selection of vox pops and an example of vox pop techniques put to a clever use in an award-winning feature; 4) Interviews from Hell (12 mins) A selectionof classic moments from radio when interviews go pear-shaped.

NB The programmes were originally designed for BBC staff and no editorial changes have been made to the online version. This is because they are primarily aimed at anyone who is working for, with or alongside the BBC, so the modules still contain some specific references to BBC procedures, methods and services.
