Synopsis
A three-part documentary, transmitted to mark the 50th anniversary of the world premiere of John Osborne’s ‘Look Back in Anger’, celebrating the life and works of one of the most influential British playwrights, who died in 1994. The film’s interviewees include leading playwright John Halpern, Osborne’s authorised biographer, and the programme includes previously unseen footage of some of the original stage performances of Osborne’s most famous plays. It features unique film of Laurence Olivier, Richard Burton and Nicol Williamson, and contributions from David Hare, Claire Bloom, Bill Kenwright, Sylvia Syms and Peter Bowles.
