Fairies
- Synopsis
- Musical fantasy. Struggling with his homophobic classmates and community, Timothy’s fading spirit becomes brighter when his eccentric drama teacher, Ms. Tebbit, accepts his differences and casts him as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Ms. Tebbit awakens Timothy’s homosexuality with the magical power of Shakespeare, and he employs the potion he finds hidden in the text of the play to make the school’s star rugby player fall in love with him. With this newly discovered ammunition, Timothy puckishly unleashes his blossoming homosexuality upon the narrow-minded town and within the ensuing chaos, he finally finds equality and love. Lines 458-63 (III,ii) are quoted at the end of the play rehearsal and the end of the film.
