Merry Wives of Windsor, The

Synopsis
Radio adaptation starring Freddie Jones as Falstaff in Shakespeare’s ‘Elizabethan sitcom’. Miriam Margoyles and Paula Wilcox co-star as the scheming wives, with Elizabeth Spriggs as Mistress Quickly, a role she also played in the BBC2 Henry IV (28 October 1995). Directed by David Blount, the production features music by Stephan Warbeck, who was specially commissioned to compose in the style of the period. The music is performed by members of the Finchley Children’s Music Group.
