Synopsis
Demonstrates the latest industrial techniques from around the world that are used in textile manufacturing. Covers the methods and processes of the commercial mass production of textiles including digital pattern laying and the more traditional pattern laying by hand, as well as the cutting and marking up of the material and how it is assembled. Shows how the CAD/CAM combination is used for quality control. Also discusses is the globalisation of the textile industry with factory visits in Cambodia and the Far East. Case studies include production of baseball hats, sky-diving suits, airline seat covers, quilted covers, sweatshirts and jersey wear.
