Saving the Rose Theatre
- Synopsis
- Television current affairs programme presented by Trevor Phillips. The campaign to save the site of the Rose Theatre, recently discovered on London’s South Bank during constructions for an office block. Protests resulted in a revised plan for a large span to be placed over the site, allowing public access, but with piles due to be driven through parts of the foundations, the protests continued. Interviewees featured during the programme include Charlton Heston, Peter Hall and Ian McKellen.
