- Synopsis
- The aims of this course are to develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of the society and culture of contemporary France; to develop and extend skills in analysing, critically evaluating and synthesising written and spoken French; and to consolidate knowledge and competence in the French language. By the end of the course students should be able to use their skills in a variety of ways: understanding extracts from news items or documentaries; expressing views and opinions in writing; obtaining information and ideas from different sources; sustaining a conversation or debate on general topics, and developing critical and analytical skills appropriate to Level 3, currently the highest-level French course.
The course has seven themes that give a broad introduction to different aspects of contemporary France and French-speaking countries. Each of the seven packs consists of video, audio CD and written material. - Language
