Synopsis
Examines how directors approach and stage A Midsummer Night’s Dream and some of the problems involved. Includes footage from various productions of the play including a brief extract from Peter Brook’s 1970 A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Members of the English Shakespeare Company are seen in rehearsal, and Jonathan Miller rehearses a production of the play for the Almeida Theatre, Islington where he is extremely sceptical of the role of fairies.
