- 400 sound recordings selected from the British Library Sound Archive’s collection of over 150,000 sounds of every animal group and habitat from all over the world. The sounds are divided into two sections: ‘Explore wildlife sounds’ includes hundreds of sounds from the natural world, including birds, insects, mammals and soundscapes - browsable by location, animal group, or habitat; ‘The language of birds’ The language of birds is an introduction to how, why and when birds communicate, illustrated with sound samples, including Alex the famous talking parrot. NB Recordings listed in the Archive’s online catalogue but not included in the online selection may be listened to on the premises of the British Library.,
