- This video provides a guide to what access audits are, what they are for and how to carry one out appropriately and effectively. It outlines service providers’ duties under the October 2004 provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA); explains the role of access audits as a key planning tool in relation to the DDA; illustrates access audits in practice in three different types of businesses: a garden centre; a branch of a large financial service provider; and a small family-run baker’s shop; shows how access audits are carried out and what they cover; explains the importance of active dialogue with the client throughout the auditing process.
