1930s’ classic documentary showing the nightly run from London’s Euston to Glasgow of the ‘Postage Special’, an express train whose ‘passengers’ are Post Office workers sorting mail. At various railway centres on the way mail bags are received and despatched. The train also picks up or drops mail en route while travelling at high speed. Music by Benjamin Brittain, verse by W H Auden.
