Mapping the Universe

Synopsis
Explores the study of space through the use of optical radio telescopes, satellites and computer modelling. Shows how astronomers use different language technologies to develop a picture of the universe. Visits to the Very Large Array (the world’s largest radio telescope) outside of Socorro, New Mexico, and Kitt Peak Observatory, as well as NASA videotape are used to paint a picture of modern astronomers.
