Helping People at Risk of Suicide or Self-Harm

Synopsis
This video forms part of a suicide-prevention training package (STORM), available to organisations, and delivered by trained facilitators. Full details at www.storm.man.ac.uk

The tape is aimed at all frontline health workers who come into contact with potentially suicidal people. The aim of the teaching programme is to develop confident skills in assessing suicidal risk and to improve techniques in managing situations where people are at risk of self-harm. The tape is illustrated with role-played scenarios in four sections: Assessment, Crisis Management, Problem Solving, and Crisis Prevention.
The tape is accompanied by a manual.
