Adding Value for Employability

Synopsis: The CD-ROM is designed to help students reflect on and gain academic credit for employment they have undertaken. It includes printable files to help students analyse the skills they have acquired while in employment, how to record them and to pinpoint areas that they can develop to enhance their future employability. The CD-ROM includes two video role plays based on everyday situations at work, where a problem has been caused or unresolved due to poor customer service. In each case the situation is finally resolved by another member of staff who uses their skills and experience to deal with the situation more effectively. Students are asked to compare the two styles and to identify what skills are on display and what skills they would need to help solve a similar problem.
