Synopsis
An illustrated lecture to an audience of psychiatric medical staff. A 72-second spoof "Star FM" radio trailer opens the lecture. Scene setting includes comments about the blame culture and the impact of adverse incidents. Differences between deliberate self-harm and suicide. Demographics, statistics and methods (6 minutes).
Case One: several excerpts from a number of interviews (6 minutes). Case is then discussed with the audience. (Probable depression or psychosis.)
Case Two: describes how she cut herself, highlights of her life and attitude towards the future. Relationship to alcohol, personality and depression.
Case Three: Bereavement reaction or Depression
Group discussion of diagnosis and management of suicidal patients.
