In Whose Interests?

Synopsis
America claims to support freedom and democracy abroad but does history really support this idea? An internal government memorandum of 1948 said "We have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6% of its population. Our real task is to maintain this position of disparity." Examples of this policy in action are shown from Guatamala, East Timor, El Salvador and Vietnam. Noam Chomsky explains that policy is decided by a small corporate sector, tightly linked to the state, which makes decisions in their own interest.
