- This double audio CD contains works by poets listed in the National Curriculum. They include William Blake, Robert Browning, Lord Byron, John Clare, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, George Herbert, Robert Herrick, Gerard Manley Hopkins, John Keats, John Milton, Percy Byshe Shelley, Edmund Spenser, Alfred Lord Tennyson, William Wordsworth, T S Eliot, Thomas Hardy, Ted Hughes, Philip Larkin, R S Thomas and W B Yeats.
The readers include poets famous in their own right such as C Day Lewis and in other cases, such as with Ted Hughes, the recordings feature the poet reading his own work. The Yeats recording was made under his personal supervision. - Language
