Oliver Twist (1999)

Synopsis
This 1999 television adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Victorian classic was originally broadcast in 4 parts. Adapted by Alan Bleasdale, this version of Oliver Twist spends much of the first 90 minutes sketching in background about Oliver’s parents which is not in the original novel. When the production returns to the original story subplots are reconfigured to take account of the newly fleshed-out characters.
