Henry VIII

Synopsis
Two-part television drama depicting the life of King Henry VIII, his tempestuous 38 year reign and his fraught relationships with his many wives. In the first part, Henry is desperate to produce a son and heir, while also having to put down a revolt organised by the Duke of Buckingham. He also sets eyes on the beautiful Anne Boleyn, who resists his advances, while ensuring that his faithful wife Katherine of Aragon is out of the way. In the second part, having married Jane Seymour after the execution of Anne Boleyn, Henry must deal with a backlash of violence in the country resulting from his dissolution of the Catholic Church and a vocal opponent in the form of Robert Aske.
