Alice in Wonderland

Synopsis
Jonathan Miller’s 1966 television adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic story. His vision of the story was a picture of upper-middle-class Victorian society, pompous, irascible, stuffy and addicted to absurd ritual, as it might have appeared to the inquiring eyes of an intelligent child. Miller took inspiration for his images from Victorian photography and pre-Raphaelite paintings. DVD extras include commentary by director/producer Jonathan Miller; ALICE IN WONDERLAND 1903 - original footage directed by Percy Stow (8 mins); stills gallery and biography of Jonathan Miller.
